David Farrell

David Farrell

Dr. Farrell is Managing Director of Rowan Technologies Ltd. David gained his MSc in maintenance engineering at the University of Manchester and went on to complete his PhD in corrosion engineering. He then worked at the Corrosion and Protection Centre Industrial Services (CAPCIS - a university-based corrosion consultancy) where he became manager of the Inspection and Monitoring Group.

David set up Rowan Technologies in 1991 to further his research and development ambitions. The company has received a number of technical awards for its research and development activities.

Bernard Robbins

Bernard Robbins

Bernard Robbins is Systems Manager at Rowan Technologies. He gained a BSc in Engineering Physics at Loughborough University and went on to complete an MSc in Instrumental Design and Application at Manchester University. Bernard has wide-ranging industrial experience, having worked in the lighting R&D, nuclear power R&D and ultra-high precision instrumentation industries before joining the company.

He has designed, developed and commissioned advanced corrosion monitoring, control instrumentation and thermal monitoring systems for power station boilers and other industrial plants. He has also been pushing forward the development of the ceramic thermocouple technology for application in high-temperature environments, including molten steel.

Vincent Murphy

Vincent Murphy

Vincent Murphy is Systems Electronics Engineer at Rowan Technologies. He has 30 years experience in electronics, both in academic and industrial environments. His experience includes software development, diagnostics, calibration and technical management.

He has been instrumental in improving the manufacturing and fabrication processes at Rowan Technologies and provides on-site commissioning and fault diagnosis expertise for installed systems.

David Luke

David Luke

David Luke is a System Software Engineer at Rowan Technologies. He gained a BSc/MSc in Physics and an MSc in Computation Neuroscience and Neuroinformatics at the University of Manchester. He also holds a BA in Mathematics at the Open University.

David has a wealth of knowledge involving analysis of large data sets and is currently developing RTL's corrosion monitoring software.

Colin Wilkins

Colin Wilkins

Colin Wilkins started up his own electronics design and development business, Electronic Solutions, in 1988 and has been working closely with Rowan Technologies ever since the company was founded. Colin has over forty years experience in electronics and software systems design, working for a number of companies that include well known names such as GEC and ICI, VG and AVT. Colin has played a key role in the development of many of Rowan Technologies' monitoring and control systems.

Prakhar Bahuguna

Prakhar Bahuguna

Prakhar Bahuguna is an Associate Consultant at Rowan Technologies. He gained his MEng in Computer Science from the University of Manchester as well as a BSc in Mathematics and Economics from the London School of Economics.

Prakhar is involved with the IT side of the company and assisted with the development of automated systems for the thermal and corrosion scanners and their communication with plant information systems. He is also the developer and maintainer of Rowan Technologies' website. He is now an LLVM Compiler Engineer at ARM Ltd where he works on the development of ARM Compiler 6.
